Roos women's soccer tripped up by Cazenovia

(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women’s soccer team lost to Cazenovia College 1-0 at home on Wednesday.

Much of the first half was played at midfield before the Roos began to push the ball consistently into their offensive end of the field. They had several good scoring chances late in the half but shots either missed the mark or were denied by Cazenovia (5-2-1) goalie Breanne Warner who had nine saves in the game. The Roos outshot the Wildcats 7-2 in the opening 45 minutes the scored held at 0-0 at the break.

Cazenovia’s Emily Graham finally broke the tie scoring a breakaway goal in the 70th minute for the game-winning score.

The Roos return home for their next two games starting this Saturday, Sept. 22 when they host the University of Maine at Presque Isle at 7 p.m. They’ll also host SUNY ESF on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m.
