Johnson, VT – Brandon McCreery (Carthage, NY) and Luke Ducharme (Brushton, NY) led the SUNY Canton men's cross country team to a fourth place finish as both runners placed in the top 15 individually at the Johnson State College Invitational on Saturday.
McCreery covered the 8-kilometer course in 32:24, which was good for 14th place. Ducharme was just four seconds behind him in 32:28 (15th). Matt Fortin (Liberty, NY) raced to a 17th place finish (32:40), while Shawn Deibel (Albion, NY) crossed the line in 33:27 (19th).
Ryan Teal (Port Leyden, NY) recorded a 25th place showing as the final of five scorers for SUNY Canton, while Isaiah Gowen (Lake George, NY) and Josh May (Glenville, NY) rounded out the Roo competitors in 31st and 40th places, respectively.
The Roos finished with a team score of 88 points trailing third place Johnson State College (73 points). Southern Vermont College won the team title with 29 points, while Thomas College was second (38). Green Mountain College finished in fifth place (132).
