HENNIKER, NH -- The SUNY Canton men’s soccer team lost to New England College 2-0 Saturday in Henniker, N.H.
Freshman goalie William Banahene (Rochester, N.Y.) made four saves for the Roos who fell to 1-3 overall.
The Roos had several good scoring opportunities in both halves. In the 21 minute sophomore Austin Johnston (Auburn, N.Y.) fired a shot that just missed the net and caromed off the post. In the 58th minute sophomore Eric Lopez (Holbrook, N.Y.) launched a shot off a re-start that on goal that was turned away by Pilgrams goalie Robert Millard who finished with nine saves.
Johnston had another good chance in the 62 minute on a point blank shot that was stopped by Millard.
Rob Lucas and Zak Harris each scored for New England (3-2-1).
The Roos will look to regroup today when they face Johnson State College at 11:30 a.m.
