Castleton, VT – Five different players found the back of the net paced by a pair of scores from Joel Atutor as host Castleton University earned a 6-0 win v. the SUNY Canton men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
Connor Campbell made three saves in the opening half for the Roos (6-7-1) and Austin Lamay stopped one shot after halftime.
The Spartans (7-6-2) got on the board first in the 25th minute when Jack Kingdon capitalized off a free kick from 30 yards out. Atutor slotted his first goal of the game 15 minutes later putting home a rebound after Sean Springer's shot was saved. Castleton led 2-0 at intermission.
The hosts added four second half tallies from Fidele Rutayisire, Seraphin Iradukunda, Josh Matthews and Atutor for the 6-0 final.
Aaron Parker made three saves recording the clean sheet for the Spartans.
The men's soccer team has a week off before it hosts Alfred State College next Saturday at 1 p.m.
