(New London, Conn.)- The SUNY Canton men’s lacrosse team couldn’t get their offense on track as they lost at Mitchell College 12-1 on Sunday in New London, Conn.
The Mariners opened a 6-0 advantage at halftime, and SUNY Canton finally got on the board with 9:09 left in the third quarter when senior Patrick Connelly (Chittenango, N.Y.) scored off a feed from senior Rob Gleason (Vestal, N.Y.) for the Roos lone score.
Junior Corey Spuck (Rochester, N.Y.) made nine saves in three quarters in goal, and freshman Jeff Hammond (Rensselaer Falls, N.Y.) had one save in the fourth quarter in his first appearance this season.
Jordan Cook fired in three goals and had one assist to lead Mitchell, and Peter Eshenfelder made 13 saves to earn the win in goal.
The Roos (1-3) will look to regroup next Saturday, March 23 when they travel to Aurora, N.Y. to take on Wells College.
