Morrisville, NY – Three different Roos scored as the SUNY Canton men's hockey team played to a 3-3 overtime tie on the road v. Morrisville State College on Friday night.

After a scoreless opening period the Roos (2-7-2) wasted no time getting on the board in the middle period. Just nine seconds into the frame sophomore Josh Sova (Oswego, NY) netted his fifth goal of the year off the setup from Kyle Matsumoto (Walnut, CA). SUNY Canton doubled its lead eight minutes later when Eric Witzel (Ottawa, ON) buried his fourth of the season with the skater advantage. Joe Deveny (Stouffville, ON) and Ben Beasley (Burlington, ON) earned helpers on the play.

The Mustangs (1-9-1) responded with just 1:04 remaining in the second on Danny Liscio's sixth tally of the season as SUNY Canton led 2-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Tyler Ralph (Middletown, NJ) added an important insurance marker 3:31 into the final period on his first goal of the season. Dylan Rosen (Clarkston, MI)) picked up his first collegiate assist on the play. Morrisville got within one two minutes later when Liscio deposited his second score of the night, this one coming shorthanded.

Morrisville pulled the goalie with 1:17 remaining and just 16 seconds later it paid off as Liscio finished off the hat trick to knot the game at three sending it into overtime.

The Roos outshot the Mustangs 3-1 in the extra session but neither team found the back of the net resulting in the 3-3 overtime tie.

Louie Puig (Chicago, IL) stopped 35 shots for the Roos, while Steven Dombrosky turned aside 34 shots for the Mustangs.

These two teams will close out their weekend home-and-home series on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Roos House.
