(Bensenville, Ill.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team lost at Robert Morris University 8-2 Saturday night at the Edge 2 West Rink in Bensenville, Ill.
The Roos moved to 2-5 overall and will hit the road again next weekend for a two-game series at Division II Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. The first game is on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. and game two will be on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. The Roos are 2-2 this season against Division II opponents after splitting at home with Assumption College and splitting with Stonehill College on the road.
Sophomores Trvor Wight (Clearwater, Fla.) and Austin Root (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) each scored an unassisted goal for the Roos. Wight pumped in his second goal of the season at the 6:09 mark of the second period that momentarily tied the game 1-1 and Root netted his first goal of the season at the 15:26 mark of the third period.
Freshman Luis Puig (Chicago, Ill.) made his third start of the season and made 21 saves in the contest.
Andrew Montague led Rober Morris with one goal and three assists and Anthony Petrak had 18 saves.
