(Johnson, Vt.)- The SUNY Canton men’s soccer teams received goals from juniors Marvin Palmer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Keelon Joseph (Malabar, Arima, Trinidad) as they posted a 2-0 victory over Johnson State College Sunday in Vermont.
The Roos have won two out of their last three games as they improved to 2-3 overall.
The Roos first goal came 11:15 into the opening half when Palmer gathered in a pass from sophomore Austin Johnston (Auburn, N.Y.) at the top of the penalty box and drilled a shot past Badgers goalie Sam Martin. Joseph pushed the visitors ahead 2-0 in the 25th minute of play when he blasted a shot into the net from deep on the right wing.
Freshman William Banahene (Rochester, N.Y.) and sophomore Antonio James (Black River, St. Elizabeth) each played a half and both recorded two saves in Sunday’s contest.
Martin finished with four saves for Johnson State.
The Roos return to the field next Sunday, Sept. 23 when they travel across town to face second-ranked St. Lawrence University at 3 p.m.
