Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team led from start to finish as it recorded an 80-56 victory against visiting Vermont Technical College on Wednesday evening at the Roos House. With the win SUNY Canton improves to 14-4 on the season, which marks the most wins in a season since the 1999-2000 team went 14-11.

With one more win the Roos will have the most victories in a single season since the 1997-98 squad went 19-7 under legendary coach Erich von Schiller.

The Roos jumped out to a 27-12 lead after a put-back by Tyler Ellison (New York, NY) with 6:25 remaining in the opening half. Ellison scored 12 of the hosts' first 27 points. SUNY Canton opened up a 40-18 lead at intermission scoring the final eight points of the period including a string of three treys from Adam Felt (Lisbon, NY), Xzavier Fisher (Brooklyn, NY) and Walt Jeter (Fort Drum, NY).

SUNY Canton continued to dominate play against a quality Knight (10-16) squad in the second half en route to the convincing victory. Ellison led a balanced Roo scoring attack finishing with 12 points and seven rebounds on 6-for-11 shooting. Sam Annorh (Queens, NY) added 11 points and five rebounds, while Scott Bartenstein (Potsdam, NY) chipped in 10 points shooting 80 percent from the field.

Felt posted nine points going 3-for-6 from distance, while Rashad Richardson (Rochester, NY) and Romario Fletcher (Queens, NY) finished with six points apiece. Nick Ryan paced Vermont Tech with a game-high 22 points, while Jamal Hughes added nine.
