(Alfred, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men’s basketball team dropped an 89-70 decision to Alfred University Tuesday night at the McLane Center in Alfred.
Junior Khalid Vaughn (New York, N.Y.) led the Roos (5-10) with a game-high 23 points and three rebounds. SUNY Canton shot 50 percent from the field and made a season-high 16 steals.
Freshman Michael Pulci (Staten Island, N.Y.) dropped in 12 points off the bench. Sophomore Xzavier Fisher (Plymouth, Pa.) added 11 points and three rebounds. Junior Scott Dixon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had eight points and five steals, and sophomore Tyler Ellison (New York, N.Y.) also had eight points and three steals.
Sean Curran drilled five 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lead the Saxons (4-11). Thomas Tsatsis added 17 points and six steals.
The Roos return home on Friday, Jan. 18 when they host Morrisville State College at 8 p.m.
