Cobleskill, NY – Cecelia Neally (Corning, NY) and Nolan Reid (Champlain, NY) both finished in the top three and the SUNY Canton women's and men's golf teams finished in first and second place, respectively on Friday at Cobleskill Golf & Country Club on Friday.
Nealy shot a 103 to tie for second individually, while Cobleskill's Tracy Anderson won the individual title with a 94. Rhea Coad (Wheatfield, NY) and Tia Tassava (Chubbuck, ID) were the next Roo finishers with a 116 and 117, respectively. Tess Adams (Calgary, AB) and Abbey Diabo (Kahnawake, QUE) rounded out the SUNY Canton competitors with rounds of 122 and 126, respectively.
On the men's side Reid led the way with a 5-over par 75 to tie for third place individually, while Nick Hughes (Watertown, NY) and Tom Rancour (Moriah, NY) finished in a tie for eighth place with 79's. Joe Fay (Watertown, NY) and Taylor Nickerson (Mashpee, MA) rounded out the Roo scorers with an 80 and 81, respectively.
The Roos finished second out of the nine team field with 313 strokes. The hosts of SUNY Cobleskill won the team title with 307 strokes.
The men's and women's golf teams continue play this weekend in the Utica College Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Yahnundasis Golf Club. The teams are set to tee off at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
