(Lynn, Mass.)- Freshman James Amelotte (Cornwall, Ontario) had four strikeouts in SUNY Canton’s 5-4 loss to Fisher College Friday afternoon in game one of a doubleheader in Lynn, Mass. Fisher also won the second game 15-0.
In the opener freshman Jared Marckese (Lecanton, Fla.) went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and an RBI to lead the Roos (1-20). Freshman Chris Jones (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) added a single and an RBI and Amelotte gave up two earned runs on eight hits and three walks in six innings.
Eridani Dume and Kenny Khale each had two singles for Fisher who rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to squeak out the victory.
In game two junior Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.) and junior Keith Harley (Carthage, N.Y.) each laced a single for the visitors. Sophomore Will McIntyre (Ottawa, Ontario) allowed seven hits in 1 2/3 innings and junior Zach Rosenthal (Miami, Fla.) and freshman Dom Deliberti (Staten Island, N.Y.) each pitched 2/3 of an inning and they each gave up two hits with one strikeout.
Ronald Rosario homered and drove in five runs for the Falcons in the nightcap.
The Roos next game is a single contest on Tuesday, April 3 at Utica College.
