Roos cross country finishes 5th at Middlebury Invitational

(Middlebury, Vt.)- The men's and women's cross country teams each finished in fifth place at the Aldrich Invitational hosted by Middlebury College on Saturday.

The women's team finished fifth out of six teams and there were seven teams in the men's race. The Roos ran against some tough competition on a challening and hilly course. The Middlebury women's team is ranked No. 1 in the country and SUNY Plattsburgh is 10th. The MIddlebury men's teams is ranked 10th and the Panthers won both races.

Megan Mydosh (Warwick, N.Y.) led the women's team with a 32nd-place finish as she recorded a time of 22:26. Heather Ameele (Williamson, N.Y.) came in 53rd place in a time of 24:16. Betzaida Ramirez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished in 75th place (28:10) and Sarah Glode (Champlain, N.Y.) came in 79th at 30:11.

In the men's race, Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) turned in a 23rd-place performance with a time of 28:30. Addisu Woldehawariat (Bronx, N.Y.) was the next top finisher for SUNY Canton coming in 39th place in a time of 30:00. Dylan Barringer (Walkill, N.Y.) was 43rd (30:39), Thomas Lauzon (Bombay, N.Y.) 52nd (31:32), and Seth Hinman (Potsdam, N.Y.) was 58th (32:23).

The Roos will head back to Vermont again next week when they compete in the Mountaineer Invitational at Southern Vermont College in Bennington.
