Canton, NY – Four different players finished with a hit but the SUNY Canton baseball team dropped a 12-3 decision to Ithaca College on Saturday.
The Bombers improve to 16-8 overall and 8-3 in Empire 8 play, while the Roos drop to 5-19 and 1-9.
Wilson Matos, Brandon Welch, Trevor Keleher and Christian Nazario-Cruz finished with hits for the Roos, while Travis Schindler reached base twice on a pair of walks. SUNY Canton scored on run each in the fourth, sixth and eighth innings and Ithaca held a slim 6-3 lead before breaking open the game with six runs in the top half of the ninth.
Ryan Henchey led Ithaca with 4 RBI, while Sam Little, Adam Gallagher and Domenic Boresta finished with two hits each for the Bombers.
Jack Morello earned his second win of the season scattering one hit and one earned run over seven innings. Dan Coant took the loss giving up six hits and six runs with two strike outs over five innings.
The baseball team returns to the diamond on Monday when it hosts Plattsburgh State in a non-conference nine-inning game at 4 p.m.
