(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men’s ice hockey team had seven players score at least one goal as they dominated the University of Rochester 10-2 Sunday afternoon in Canton.

Freshman Bill Ousey (Fairless Hills, Pa.), senior Dan Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.) and freshman Jake McCombs (Sandwich, Mass.) each scored twice for the 15th-ranked Roos, who ran their winning streak to five games improving to 25-2-3 overall .

SUNY Canton, playing their third game in as many days, outshot the Yellowjackets 54-18 including a 44-8 margin through two periods of play. Ousey put the home team ahead 1-0 scoring his first goal 4:44 into the opening period. Rochester came back and tied the game five minutes later off an unassisted score from Andy Vanderhorst. The Roos responded with three straight goals to close out the first period from junior Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario), Cibelli and freshman Richard Brogden (Derwood, Md.) to take a 4-1 lead after one period.

The Blue and Gold then tacked on four more goals in the second stanza to open an 8-1 advantage after 40 minutes. McCombs scored twice in the second period, Cibelli added his second goal and freshman Austin Root (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) got in the act with a goal late in the period.

Ousey and freshman J.R. Lafferty (Williamstown, N.J.) closed out the scoring in the final period as the Roos swept the season series once again with the Yellowjackets.

Freshman Sean Gallagher (Sandwich, Mass.) finished with five assists and freshman Chris Ypsilantis (Budd Lake, N.J.) notched 16 saves to earn his third win in three starts this season.

Nick Fedorka scored the other goal for Rochester and Ryan Sigurdson made 44 saves.
