(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Fisher College on Sunday as they lost 7-0 and 6-1 in Canton.

The Roos got on the board in the fifth inning closing within two runs and then loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh trying to pull off their second rally against the Falcons this weekend.  In the bottom of the fifth, Phil Tsiaras (Toronto, Ontario) led off with a single and then Will McIntyre (Ottawa, Ontario), who entered as courtesy runner for Tsiaras, advanced to second on a passed ball and then scored on an RBI-double by pinch hitter Thomas Fearon (Ajax, Ontario).  Fisher then closed out the inning with double play and the score stood at 3-1.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jordan Hunneyman (Redwood, N.Y.) reached base after being hit by a pitch and then moved to second on a bloop single to left field by Jeff Lake (Battersea, Ontario).  Those two advanced another base with two outs when Michael Zelyez (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) was plunked on the arm by a pitch, but Fisher was able to get the Roos’ final batter to ground out and secure the win.

Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.), Nick Belile (Norwood, N.Y.) and Hunneyman also had singles in the second game.  Dillon James (Ottawa, Ontario) took the loss on the mound as he struck out five batters and allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks.  Tyler Durward (Ottawa, Ontario) came on in relief and gave up three runs on five hits and one walk.

In the first game, Belile, Hunneyman, Brandon Kushner (Ajax, Ontario), and Evan Hammond (Ottawa, Ontario) each singled for SUNY Canton.  Fearon was hit with the loss as he surrendered six runs on nine hits with three strikeouts.

Jose Rodriguez and Renaldo Nunez doubled in game one for Fisher and Jose Paulino and Billy Lafferty added doubles in the second game.
