BUTLER, Penn. -- The SUNY Canton baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday losing 9-5 and 7-4 at Pullman Park in Butler, Pa.
In the opening game, senior Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.) went 4-for-4 with a double and three singles to pace the Roos (1-9). Junior Jordan Hunneyman (Redwood, N.Y.) added a triple, freshman Braden Giffin (Lake Worth, Fla.) had two singles, and junior Nick Belile (Norwood, N.Y.) went 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Senior Zach Rosenthal (Miami, Fla.) allowed eight runs on seven hits with two strikeouts in five innings, and junior Bryce MacDonald-Wilson (Gasten Passage, Nova Scotia) gave up one run on one hit in one inning of relief.
Mike Visloski went 2-for-3 with a double and a run for Penn State Greater Allegheny.
In game two, Darling laced a pair of singles and drove in a run. Freshman Kevin Hill (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) also had two singles, and freshman Kyle Sacks (Clifton Park, N.Y.) went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Sophomore James Amelotte (Cornwall, Ontario) struck out four batters and surrendered seven runs on seven hits in six innings.
Visloski smacked his second double of the day and Sam Weightman added three singles for Penn State Greater Allegheny.
The two teams square off again on Sunday in another doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
