New York, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team was firing on all cylinders on Saturday as they defeated host The King's College, 5-0, to improve to .500 on the season. The Kangaroos now sit at 4-4 overall.

SUNY Canton wasted no time getting on the board in the fifth minute as Rebecca Remington (Potsdam, NY) fed Katlyn Hart (Harrisville, NY) for her team-leading fifth goal of the year. At the 16 minute mark Hart was the catalyst as she set up Franchesca Trombley (Dekalb Junction, NY) for her third goal of the season. The Roos held large advantages in shots (21-2) and shots on goal (16-2) leading on the scoreboard 2-0 at the half.

Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) got the second half scoring started when she tallied an unassisted marker in the 52nd minute for her first score as a Roo. Ninety seconds later Trombley registered her second goal of the game off a feed from Nikki Holmes (Ogdensburg, NY).

Franchesca Trombley (Dekalb Junction, NY) had a big day for the Roos as she found the back of the net twice. Jade Sayward (Willsboro, NY), Katlyn Hart (Harrisville, NY) and Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) all added goals for SUNY Canton, while Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) earned the win in goal. Jade Sayward (Willsboro, NY) capped off the scoring for the day at the 67 minute mark when she netted her second score of the season off a feed from Melissa Campoverde (Forest Hills, NY).

The Roos held a staggering advantage in shots (34-11) and shots on goal (21-7) in the contest. Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) picked up her fourth win of the season stopping seven shots. Victoria McAlister made 16 saves in the loss for King's College.

The women's soccer team returns to action Sunday at 12:00 p.m. when they travel to take on SUNY Maritime.
