Houghton, NY – Host Houghton College scored four first half goals on its way to a 6-0 victory against the SUNY Canton women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
Jenny Zacchigna scored twice tallying goals in the fifth and 48th minutes. Kate Taggart, McKenzie Marti, Sarah Hoag and Nikki Garns also scored for the Highlanders. Houghton took a 4-0 lead at halftime as they outshot the Roos 8-1 in the opening 45 minutes.
Katie Lamica (Malone, NY) and Kristina DiNardo (Ottawa, ON) tallied the lone shots on goal for the Roos.
Allison Wakefield (Mastic, NY) made two saves over the first 52:06, while Kelsi Gilbert (Colton, NY) turned aside four shots over the final 37:54. Sadie Dunnett made one save earning the win in the first half, while Rachael Fortney made one stop in the second half.
This closes out the 2016 regular season for the Roos.
