(Canton, N.Y.)- Freshman Megan Mydosh (Warwick, N.Y.) has been named the USCAA Runner of the Week in women’s cross country.
Mydosh earned the award after posting her fourth top 10 finish at the CCOC Championships on Oct. 15 at Hobart and William Smith. The Warwick High School graduate crossed the line in 10th place out of 126 runners with a time of 21:49 in the 5K race at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva. Mydosh and the Roos finished in 10th place as a team out of 16 schools.
Mydosh is the first member of the women’s cross country team to be honored by the USCAA this year and third cross country runner as Timothy Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.) and Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) of the men’s team have also received the weekly honor this season.
Overall SUNY Canton has had five players earn this honor from the USCAA as Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, N.Y.) and Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) of the women’s volleyball team have also been honored.
