(Lynn, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton softball team put on quite an offensive display Thursday night as they banged out four home runs in a dominating 20-4 win over Fisher College in Lynn, Mass.

Every player in the Roos starting lineup had at least one hit as they scored their most runs so far this spring.

“We were really swinging the bats well today,” said first-year head coach Bryan Ingalls. “We really focused on tracking the ball and our approaches at the plate this week in practice and today everything game together.”

The Roos quickly erased a 2-0 deficit after the first inning posting seven runs in the top of the second. The Falcons got two back in the bottom half of the stanza but it was all SUNY Canton from there on out as they outscored Fisher 13-0 over the next three innings.

Junior Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) went 3-for-5 including a three-run homer in the second and a solo shot in the fourth and she ended the night with five RBIs. Lottie has four home runs this season and 10 in her career. Sophomore Emiley Walters (Lancaster, N.Y.) went 3-for-4 including a three-run blast in the fifth inning which was her third home run in the last five games. She finished with four RBIs and freshman Marie Mason (Pulaski, N.Y.) added a solo inside the park home run in the fourth inning.

Sophomore Melissa Campoverde (Forest Hills, N.Y.) also had an impressive day as she was a perfect 5-for-5 with a double, four singles and two RBIs. Junior Jessica Measheaw (Hammond, N.Y.) earned her first win this spring as she struck out two batters and allowed just three walks and four hits in five innings on the mound.

The two teams square off again on Friday in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
