Roo Mydosh second overall, women fifth at Southern Vermont

Bennington, VT – Megan Mydosh (Warwick, NY) finished in second place individually leading the women's cross country team to a fifth place showing out of the eight-team field Saturday afternoon at the Southern Vermont Invitational.

The Roos finished with a team score of 120 on the day. The team was just behind fourth place Bard College (110 points). Williams College (60), Castleton State (66) and Paul Smith's (69) finished in first through third places in an extremely competitive field.

Mydosh paced the Roos with a time of 21:55 over the extremely hilly 5-kilometer course. She has finished in the top five individually in all four races this season and this is her second time finishing second overall. Keara Byrne (Queensbury, NY) turned in an 11th place performance in 23:38.

Jess Nagy (Budd Lake, NJ) covered the course in 25:49 good for 29th place out of the 64-runner field. Joelle Percy (Black River, NY) turned in a time of 26:28 for 34th place, while Laura DiFrenza (Salt Point, NY) crossed the line in 28:49 to place 44th.

The women's cross country team will race again next Saturday when they travel to Johnson, VT to take part in the Johnson State College Invitational beginning at 10:30 a.m.
