RIT combined to score 33 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Saints baseball on Monday afternoon, winning the first game 17-1 before coming from behind in the second game for a 16-13 victory. It's the first time the Saints have allowed 17 runs since April of 2010. The Saints are now 8-4 on the season and 4-3 Liberty League ball games.

RIT opened up a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with help from a two-run homerun from Skip Flanagan. They added three more in the second, five in the third and closed out their scoring with a three-run fourth inning.

The Saints scored their lone run of the game in the top of the third when a single by senior Mark Syron plated Mic Regan.

Alex Dermody started on the mound and was the pitcher of record for St. Lawrence. He threw one and one-third inning, allowed six hits, walked five and struck out two batters. Will Fellows, Jake Levin and Jake Farrell combined to allow seven hits in four and two-thirds innings in relief. Farrell led the pitching corps with four strikeouts and did not allow a run in two innings of work.

Tigers' starting pitcher Rory Little allowed just five hits in five innings pitched with one strikeout in the win.

The Tigers again jumped out to an early lead in the second game of the afternoon, scoring four runs right out of the gate. But the Saints answered with a five-run second to take their first lead of the day.

Kyle MacDonald walked with one out in the bottom of the second inning and Kyle Liszewski and Adam Reichel each followed with singles to the load the bases for Erik Larsen. Larsen and Isaac Lewis connected for two more singles to plate MacDonald and Liszewski, respectively to cut the Tiger's lead in half.

With the bases still loaded, senior Chris Fernandez drilled a bases-clearing three-RBI double to give St. Lawrence the 5-4 lead.

MacDonald reach again on an error by the third baseman in the bottom of the third and eventually came around to score for the Saints sixth run on a Liszewski double.

RIT's bats erupted once again in the top of the fourth, as they added seven runs to retake the lead 11-6.

But the Saints answered yet again with three in the bottom half of the frame, including a two-run home run from Syron that brought Regan around to score, and then tacked on two more in the fifth to pull even at 11-11.

The Tigers scored five more runs in the final three innings to put the game out of reach.

The Saints outhit RIT 14-13 in game two, but committed five errors in the contest, which led to eight unearned runs.

Frank Grady was the pitcher of record for St. Lawrence after he came in in relief of starter Andrew Schreyack and threw three and two-thirds innings allowing just one hit and three runs. Schreyack gave up 10 hits and 11 runs, only four of which were earned, in the amount of innings. Ben Jenkins finished the game on the mound for the Saints.
