Riley dominates Principia in 11-0 Saints baseball win

Senior Joe Riley pitched seven innings of two hit ball, striking out 13 and St. Lawrence University's baseball team cruised to a 11-0 win over Principia College in a game which was called after the top of the seventh.

Riley improved to 2-0 on the season in an overpowering performance. He surrendered one-out singles in the fifth and sixth innings, but did not allow either runner to reach second. Riley, who has yet to surrender a run or a walk in two starts, got plenty of support as the Saints scored three in the third and blew it open with six in the bottom of the fourth.

The Saint runs in the third came with two outs as Zane Fish delivered a run scoring double and Chris Fernandez and Devin Robson had run-scoring singles. Chris Conlon's double started the big fourth inning and Robson and Andrew Schreyack added rbi singles.

The Saints concluded the scoring with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth on Mark Syron's sacrifice fly and a single by Bryan Palermo.

The Saints will play Fredonia on Friday and conclude their southern trip against Coast Guard on Saturday.
