CANTON, N.Y.—Senior captain Carli Reyolds (Indian Lake, N.Y./Indian Lake) scored a career-high 24 points to lead the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (1-2) to a 68-64 come-from-behind victory over SUNY Canton (0-4) in the finale of the Kevin Fees Roos Classic. Fellow senior captain Bailey Weigel (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville East) scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Potsdam.

The Bears build an early 7-2 lead with four points coming from Reynolds by the 16:02 mark of the first half, but the Kangaroos answered. A Canton 13-2 run gave the Roos a six-point advantage less than four minutes later. However, Potsdam battled back to tie the score at 19-19 as Reynolds drained a 3-pointer at 8:20. Another Reynolds three at 5:30 gave the Bears a 28-19 lead and capped a 19-4 Potsdam run. Canton's Karyss Terrance laid in a basket with 1:10 left in the half and the Bears lead was down to just 31-30 at the break.

The Roos started quickly in the final period and a Logan Tallman 3-pointer gave Canton a 39-33 lead with 17:52 remaining. The Roos led for nearly 15 minutes of the second half, but never by more than six. After Reynolds hit two free throws at 7:15 to close the gap to 50-48, Canton responded with four straight from the charity stripe to build the lead back to six with 6:21 remaining. Potsdam closed the contest with a 20-10 run to pull out the win. Bears senior captain Colleen McNamara (Guelph, Ontario/Our Lady of Lourdes) scored on a fast break with less than five to go to give Potsdam a 55-54 lead. The Bears never trailed again. A layup from Weigel gave Potsdam its largest lead of the game at 62-55, but Canton wasn't finished. A clutch three from Tallman with five seconds left got the Roos to within 66-64, but two more Reynolds free throws put the game out of reach a second later.

McNamara and senior captain Veronica Sapp (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) each scored nine points for the Bears. Junior forward Katie LaVoie (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) finished with six points.

All five of Canton's starters reached double digits. Terrance led the Roos with 19 points and nine boards. CaseyLynn Fulton, Taylor Saltus and Brianna Sayer all scored 11 with Sayer also collecting nine rebounds. Tallman finished with 10 points.

The Bears are now off until Tuesday, Dec. 2, when they host the Clarkson Golden Knights at 5:30 p.m.
