FARMINGDALE, N.Y.—Farmingdale State's J.T. Famularo scored in the 109th minute to hand the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (2-2) it's second loss of the season. Bears senior goalkeeper Joseph Glackin finished with eight saves in his first start of 2012.

The offenses were slow to heat up in the first half. The Bears had a shot off a corner kick just 58 seconds into the contest, but didn't get another chance for 16 minutes and finished the scoreless first half with eight. The Rams had a tougher time creating scoring chances, totaling just four shots and only testing Glackin once in the opening half.

Farmingdale (1-4) was able to raise their offensive play in the second half, reversing the advantage in shots. The Rams fired six attempts on Glackin in the second half, but the 2011 All-SUNYAC goalie snagged all of them.

The Potsdam outshot Farmingdale 2-1 in the first 10-minute overtime, forcing Ram goalie Ricky Meschkow to make one stop. The hosts got the only two shots of the second overtime and Famularo connected at 108:59.

The Bears held a 13-8 advantage in total shots and 7-2 lead in corner kicks. Meschkow matched Glackin with eight saves. Potsdam has now played three straight double-overtime games.

“We started out well today,” said Potsdam Head Coach Adam Parker. “They were really well organized defensively and just didn't get a goal. The game opened up as time wore on and we made two mistakes and they took advantage.”

Potsdam returns home Wednesday, Sept. 12 when the Bears host No. 9 St. Lawrence University at 7:30 p.m.
