St. Lawrence University sophomore Anna Rabideau led from gun to finish to take individual honors in the 2012 North Country 5 Invitational on the Ronald C. Hoffmann 5,000 meter cross country course at St. Lawrence Wednesday afternoon.

Rabideau led the 38 finisher field with a time of 21:11.40 in the event which included runners from Canton College, Potsdam, Clarkson and Paul Smith's in addition to the Saints. It was a non-scoring meet from a team standpoint.

The Saints rested several of their top runners in the race, but showed plenty of depth as they took the top four places and six of the top ten. First year Madeline Funk was second in 21:50.50 with classmate Jenny Van Ooyen third in 21:58.80. Senior Andrea Maynard rounded out the lead pack of Saints in fourth at 22:13.50 while sophomore Katie Mannix was the other top ten finisher, placing sixth in 22:24.80.

Megan Mydosh of Canton kept the Saints from a sweep of the top five with a fifth place finish in 22:24.10 while Meaghan McKenna was Clarkson's top finisher in seventh with a time of 22:37.40. Potsdam's Olivia Rehm was eighth in 22:37.40 and Jessie Husmann was Paul Smith's top finisher in 27th in 25:01.10.

Other Saint finishers included Madeline Woods in 11th at 23:01.0, Kendra Leonida was 13th in 23:09.9, Kendra Sultzer was 1th in 23:28.5, Chloe McElligott was 18th in 23:34.8 and Paige Morrow finished 30th in 26:14.5.

The Saints will return to action at the NCAA Pre-Regional at Rochester on Saturday.
