Lebanon Valley College got off to a quick start with a goal with the game less than a minute old and went on to a 4-0 non-league field hockey victory over St. Lawrence in a game played at William Smith on Saturday.
Lebanon Valley's Brittany Fleisher scored her fifth of the season on a redirection right in front of Saint goalie Kim Haab with the game just 50 seconds old to open the scoring. LVC went on to build a 3-0 lead at the half and scored its fourth goal just over 10 minutes into the second half.
Lebanon Valley outshot the Saints 22-4 and had 11 penalty corners to four for SLU. Haab finished with eight saves while Kendra Moll needed just one for the shutout.
The Saints, now 2-3 on the year will play Manhattanville at 11 a.m. on Sunday at William Smith while Lebanon Valley, 3-3 will take on the host Herons.
Molly VanLeuvan scored Lebanon Valley's second goal at 22:25 of the first half, putting away a rebound of a shot by Lyndee Sheaffer and it went to 3-0 at 33:58 on Fleisher's redirection of Megan Arnst's shot.
Caity Stevens completed the scoring at 45:14 on a redirection of a point shot by Arnst following a penalty corner.
