BROCKPORT -- Senior Kaila Maguire (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) of the women's soccer team has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week after being named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Tournament team.
Maguire and the Golden Eagles dropped a hard fought semifinal contest against the Cortland on Friday afternoon, losing 1-0 to the Red Dragons.
Maguire was named to the All-Tournament team along with teammate Annie Terilli (Brockport, NY/Brockport).
The Golden Eagles, the top-seeded team in the tournament, allowed a goal in the 48th minute to the Red Dragons that proved to be the game-winner.
Cortland advanced to the championship where they defeated Oneonta for the SUNYAC title.
Maguire finished fourth on the team this year with 16 points while the senior's eight assists ranked second in the SUNYAC, behind teammate Sarah Lawson (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East). Maguire's 37 career points puts her in the top 25 in school history.
