The SUNY Potsdam men's golf team concluded its' season in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Mid Atlantic Championship qualifier at the Blue Heron Hills Country Club in Macedon on Sunday.
St. John Fisher won the two-day weekend event with a team score of 566. Thad Wier III was the individual medalist for St. John Fisher with a 7-under-par 135. Clarkson University was second with a 595 and Hobart College was third with a 624.
The Bears placed seventh out of nine teams with a team score of 644. Sophomore and No. 2 player Conor Talty (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport) had the top score for Potsdam with a 75-76-151 to rank tied for 12th overall among individual players.
No. 4 Bears' player Kevin Doherty (Amherst, N.Y. / Amherst) shot an 83-80-163 while sophomore John Hickey (Au Sable Forks, N.Y. / Au Sable Valley) carded a 78-86-164.
Sophomore Daniel Kurtz (Livonia, N.Y. / Livonia) showed marked improvement on day two by firing a 78 one day after shooting a 93 to finish with a 171.
And, senior Harrison Davenport (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) also fared much better on day two with an 81 after shooting a 96 on day one to close out with a 177.
