POTSDAM – A local high school football standout is now part of Monmouth University’s 22nd-ranked NCAA Div. I football team.
Shawn Clark of Potsdam is midway through his junior year at Monmouth, whose football program has been ranked #22 according to the most recent FCS Coaches Poll.
Clark caught his first touchdown pass of the season last weekend in a win over Presbyterian, 42-21. Monmouth’s record is 8-1 so far this season.
After completing his junior season as a Potsdam student, Clark transferred to prep school Cushing Academy to finish out his high school career, when he played quarterback and receiver. He has made the transition to a full-time tight end.
