POTSDAM – Potsdam Central’s junior varsity football team finished the year with a perfect 7-0 record, but lost a shootout with OFA Monday for bragging rights to top spot in the league.
The JV beat St. Lawrence Central 40-14 last week to end their season at a perfect 7-0.
There are no playoffs in the JV league this year, but the league was staging the “post-season” game between the two top finishers, according to Potsdam Central Athletic Director Mark Wilson.
Potsdam beat OFA JV in the first game of the season.
“Unfortunately the team suffered its only loss 42-36 in a very exciting game,” Wilson said. “The boys played very hard right to the end.”
