Oswego State (9-0, 8-0 SUNYAC) scored four third period goals to break open a close contest and down the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team 6-0 on Friday night. Eli Kim-Swallow scored two goals for the Lakers and freshman goalie Austin Keiser made 35 saves for the Bears

The Lakers got started just 1:16 into the contest, scoring on their second shot of the game. Luke Moodie finished a pass from Paul Rodrigues for the only tally Oswego would need. The Bears were unable to score on three power plays over the middle of the period and Kim-Swallow made them pay at 15:53 of the period on an assist from Chris Muise. The Lakers took the two-goal lead into the intermission.

The Bears were much better in the second period, outshooting Oswego 13-12. However, Laker goalie Andrew Hare turned aside every puck that came his way and Keiser matched him save-for-save. Late in the second period, a fire alarm sent the teams to their locker rooms early with the score still 2-0.

Just over five minutes into the third period, Oswego got its third tally from Chris Carr. Five minutes later, Tyler Leimbrock made it 4-0. With 1:46 remaining, Zack Josepher struck on the man-advantage to give the Lakers their five-goal advantage and 26 seconds later, Kim-Swallow capped the scoring with his second goal of the night.

Hare made 30 saves to earn the shutout. Josepher finished with a goal and two assists for a game-high three points.

The Bears look to snap their four-game skid tomorrow night as they take on Cortland at 7 p.m.
