Canton, NY – Jordan Podkladek earned a pair of wins as the softball team earned two run-rule victories sweeping visiting SUNY Delhi 10-2 and 13-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Game 1
The Roos scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to turn a 2-2 tie into a 10-2 win in eight innings. Courtney Hyland homered and drove in a pair of runs, while Rachel Thornhill went 3-for-3 scoring twice and driving in another run. Stefanie Miller and Lizzie Bimonte both finished with two hits, while Bimonte and Valerie Clark drove in two runs apiece.
Jordan Podkladek earned the complete game win with five strike outs and did not allow a single earned run.
Game 2
Canton scored six runs each in the second and fourth innings to earn a 13-2 win in the nightcap. Miller went 3-for-4 driving in a pair of runs, while Desiree Pryce was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Hyland and Rhea Coad both posted two hits, while Coad knocked in a pair of runs.
Podkladek earned her 10th win of the season giving up two earned runs in her second complete game of the day.
The softball team returns to action on Sunday when it hosts SUNY Delhi for a doubleheader at 12 p.m.
