St. Lawrence University’s baseball team had 17 hits,but lost a 12-6 decision in a non-league gameat Plattsburgh Wednesday afternoon.
The Saints, now 19-6 overall, resume Liberty League play with doubleheaders at Skidmore Friday and Saturday. The Skidmore series was moved up a day to allow for weather. Friday’s first game will start at 1:30 with Saturday’s initial start at either 11 or noon.
Bryan Palermo went four for six with two runs scored and one driven in, Carter Franz was three for six, Jeff Kott two for four with two driven in and Paul Piatelli three for five with two runs driven in at Plattsburgh.
The Saints jumped out to an early lead,but Plattsburgh took a 3-2 lead with three in the bottom of the second and never again trailed, scoring two in the third, five in the fourth and tacking on two more in the seventh. The Saints scored two in the top of the fifth and added single runs in the seventh and eighth.
