A pair of standouts on the Clarkson University Lacrosse team gained national recognition as Brendon Shearin and Corey Herrington were honored as United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-Americans.

2013 USILA Division III All-Americans

Shearin and Herrington, who both earned Honorable Mention distinction, helped to pace the Golden Knights’ offense this spring and played key roles in leading Clarkson to a 10-6 overall record and a berth in the Liberty League Tournament for the fourth time over the past five years. The Green and Gold narrowly missed out on claiming the 2013 Liberty League Tournament Championship, falling to RIT 10-9 in overtime on the 3rd-ranked Tigers’ home field on May 5.

A senior midfielder from Goffstown, NH, Shearin was Clarkson’s second-leading goal scorer with 24 tallies through 16 games. He has also been selected to play in the prestigious USILA North/South Senior Division III All-Star Game on May 24.

Herrington, a sophomore midfielder from Camillus, NY, was Clarkson’s leading offensive threat with 46 points overall on 19 goals and 27 assists through 16 games. He was second in the Liberty League in conference points and the league’s top playmaker. In six Liberty League contests, he averaged 3.67 points per game on 11 goals and 11 assists.

Both Shearin and Herrington were also selected as unanimous First-Team Liberty League All-Stars.

Twenty-five players in the Clarkson Lacrosse program’s illustrious history have gained All-America accolades, including 11 since the 2002 campaign.
