POTSDAM, N.Y.—Freshman Samantha Coombs (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) continued to impress with two victories for the SUNY Potsdam swimming and diving teams, but the Bears men and women bowed to Oswego State in the regular season finale. The Lakers men won 116-81 and the Lakers women captured a 116-76 decision.

Coombs swam to victories in the 100 and 50 Free races. She was just over a second shy of her own program records with a time of 55.73 in the 100 and 26.07 in the 50. Freshman Joshua Parker (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) won the 200 Fly in 2:17.80 and in his Bears debut, freshman Evan Fix (Alden, N.Y./Alden) won the men's 100 Free in 51.59. Fix nearly won the 50 Free with a time of 23.81, just 0.43 behind Oswego's Alex Kemper.

Senior Jennifer Yeager (Greene, N.Y./Greene) was edged in the 500 Free. She was .52 seconds behind Laker Julia Lamb with a time of 5:39.85. Junior Colleen Fraser (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) was just .02 seconds shy of a victory in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:36.50.

Prior to the meet, the Bears honored seniors Yeager, Tim Knapp (Newark, N.Y./Newark) and Ricky Blackburn (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) in their final home appearance on Senior Day.

The Bears are now off until Wednesday, Feb. 15, when they head to Buffalo for the SUNYAC Championships.
