St. Lawrence University's field hockey team battled back from a 3-1 deficit to tie Oneonta at 3-3 in a non-league game at Utica on Sunday, but the Dragons continued a win streak against the Saints with two goals just over four minutes apart in the second half.

Oneonta won its sixth straight since a Saint overtime victory in 2009, 5-3. The Saints fell to 1-2 on the season heading into a Sept. 13 home game against Wells College.

The Saints opened the scoring 7:07 into the game as seniors Samantha Haab and Kara Pelosi collaborated on the game's first goal. Pelosi centered the ball and Haab hit the open net for her fifth of the season.

Oneonta then scored three straight, two of them by Allyson Wells. Wells tied the game as she got past a defender and tucked the ball inside the post at 15:32 and then put the Dragons in front at 28:05, scoring from Hannah Hayward off a penalty corner. Madeline Reilly made it a 3-1 game at 33:50, tipping in a shot from Hayward.

The Saints cut it to 3-2 with no time to go in the first half as Jamie Oriol scored her first of the year on a penalty stroke. Tori Shaffer tied the game at 44:16 of the second half as she redirected Bailey Sherwin's pass out of the air for her first of the year.

Casey Stata redirected a long shot by Emily Beck for the eventual game winner at 48:08 and Wells scored her third of the game on a tip in at 52:23 to complete the scoring.

The Saints had a 15-12 edge in shots on goal while Oneonta led in penalty corners 11-10. Kim Haab had five saves for the Saints and Krista Servedio made 10 stops for Oneonta.
