O'Neil leads Saints women's golf team at Leaman Invitational

St. Lawrence University sophomore Claire O'Neil shot rounds of 83 and 82 for a 165 total and finished 21st in the Jack Leaman Invitational hosted by Amherst College on Sunday.

The Saints finished ninth as a team in the 15-team field. Ithaca College and Williams shared the team title with 644 strokes while the Saints had a 702 total.

Laura Gay followed an opening round 84 with an 86 and finished 31st at 170 while Augusta Mayer shot 86-92 for 179 and tied for 46th, Lexie Haehl 93-95 for 188 and a tie for 61st and Gwen Maurice back-to-back rounds of 102 to tie for 71st.

The Saints will play in the Liberty League Championship at Wellesley April 26-27 to conclude the spring season.
