An Ogdensburg man was half of the team that took first place in the Northern New York Bassmasters final tournament of the season.
Despite weather conditions that stopped three teams from weighing in, Robert Marceau of Ogdensburg and Dick Garlock of Clayton turned in a total of 23.41 lbs. of bass, garnering them the top spot. They also tied for lunker of the day with a 5.75-lbs. smallmouth.
Other top finishers included Tyler Capella and Carrie Capella taking third place with 21.19 lbs. Ryan Nichols and Greg Nichols of Gouverneur took fourth place with 20.39 lbs.
Mike Bean of Ogdensburg tied Marceau's 5.75-lbs. lunker.
Final standings for the season have Capella and Capella in first place with 1,189 points. Marceau and Garlock finished second with 1,171 points. Third place was a tie with 1,162. Brad Paradis and Robert Paradis share the spot with Tom O'Grady and Stave Garrabant. Fifth place went to Chuck Roach and Chris Roach with 1,156 points.
The group's team championship is set for Sept. 20 and 21 on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington.
