O'Connor leads Saints in men's golf at ECAC championships
Junior Ren O'Connor shot rounds of 82 and 80 for a 162 total to lead St. Lawrence University's men's golf team to a fifth place finish in the 2010 ECAC Metro/Upstate Championships held in Rochester on Saturday and Sunday.
The Saints finished with a team total of 659 shooting best four of five scores of 328 and 331, trailing fourth place Elmira by 11 strokes. Host St. John Fisher won the tournament for the seventh straight year with a 631 total on its home course while New York University was second at 645 and the University of Rochester was third at 646.Sophomore Jeff Duggan was the second Saint finisher, one stroke behind O'Connor with rounds of 80 and 83 for a 163 total while Adrian Bouthot had the best single round of the tournament with a 79 on Saturday and finished at 166 after a 87 on Sunday. Pete Harriman and John Harris shot identical rounds of 87-84 to finish at 171.
The Saints will conclude the fall season at the Hamilton Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
