NORWOOD – The Norwood-Norfolk Central School Flyers girls’ cross country team competed in the state championships for the 10th year in a row recently, and the boys’ team joined them there, for a good showing by the North Country teams.

The girls placed sixth in the Class D race and just missed fifth by one point.

Kaycie Saucier, Adam Saucier, and Kyle Fulk were all medalists.

K. Saucier placed second, A. Saucier came in fifth, and K. Fulk placed eighth, with only the top 20 in each race receiving awards.

Kaycie Saucier had the 17th fastest time of the day (18:46) out of 470 runners.

Sydney Levison was the third fastest freshman in Class D.

The boys and girls teams combined had 14 Academic All-NAC Awards.
