Eighth-ranked RIT handed the No. 4 St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team their first loss of the season, as they defeated the Saints 19-12 Saturday afternoon in Rochester, New York, ending the Saints seven game-winning streak.

Conor Healey led the way for the Saints with two goals and three assists. He currently sits fourth on the Saints all-time scoring list with 247 points (127 goals, 120 assists). Jamie DeNicola added three goals and picked up three ground balls, while Andrew Jarrett had two goals and one assist against the Tigers. Jon Fairbanks netted two goals, while Brett McCormack, Steven Peterson and Alec Dietsch each contributed one.

The Saints fired hard out of the gate when Dietsch ripped a shot past goaltender Nick Nesbitt just seven seconds off the opening faceoff, for his first goal of the season. The Tigers' offense remained strong through the game when all of St. Lawrence's goals were answered with two or more from RIT, shutting down any comeback attempt from the Saints. DeNicola recorded his 22nd goal of the season with an unassisted goal to close the Tiger's lead to three for the closest comeback in the third quarter.

Despite the loss, Ryan Brigham dominated the faceoff circle, winning 65 percent of the face-offs taken.

RIT was led by Chad Levick and Ryan Lee with four goals apiece. Brendan MacDonald fired three, while J.D. Hall and Aidan Milburn added two for the Tigers.

Nesbitt was given the win of the Tigers after collecting 15 saves, while Alex Terry stood strong in goal for the Saints with 12 saves, but earned his first collegiate loss of the season.

St. Lawrence fell to 7-1 overall and 1-1 in Liberty League action, while RIT improved to 7-2, 2-1.

The Saints return to North Country field this Wednesday facing SUNY Plattsburgh in a non-league contest at 7:00 p.m.
