Potsdam, NY – Sophomore Taylor Nickerson (Mashpee, MA) carded a round of 3-over par 75 to finish in a tie for second place on Tuesday afternoon at Potsdam Country Club.
Nickerson, a first year member of the Roos golf team, has steadily improved his play over three rounds of play thus far in the season. Nolan Reid (Champlain, NY) fired a round of 76 to finish in a tie for fifth, while Alex Folts (Canandaigua, NY) also finished in the top 10 with a round of 78 (T-8th).
Joe Fay (Watertown, NY) shot a round of 81, while freshman Riley Taylor finished with an 83 to round out the top five SUNY Canton scorers. Meanwhile, Tom Rancour (Moriah, NY) who counted as an individual finisher tallied an 87.
SUNY Potsdam finished in first place with 308 strokes, while Clarkson University (309) and SUNY Canton were right on their heels to round out the top three in the six team field.
The SUNY Canton men's golf team returns to the links on Friday when it takes part in the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational at the Cobleskill Golf and Country club beginning at 12 p.m.
