Nazareth handed the St. Lawrence women's swim and dive team its second consecutive dual meet loss on Saturday, as they downed the Saints (2-2) 147-114 in the Augsbury Pool. It was the Saints final dual meet of 2014, as the team will now turn its attention to preparing for the Liberty League Championship, which begins December 5 in Rochester.
First-year student Meg Musser and junior Alanna Blackburn led the St. Lawrence with a pair of individual victories while also swimming on the Saints winning 200-yard individual medley relay team with Julia Carson and Heather Foley. The foursome combined for a time of 1:57.06.
Musser touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke (1:05.26) and 200 IM (2:21.30), while Blackburn's wins came in the sprint freestyle events at 50 (25.47) and 100 (56.00) yards.
Foley and Courtney Goodrich were the other individual winners for the Saints in the loss. Foley and Blackburn finished one-two in the 100 fly with times of 1:02.33 and 1:03.99, respectively. Goodrich's win came in the 200 back (2:21.38).
