The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team will hit the road for the 2013 ECAC Hockey Tournament, as Dartmouth College got two goals from Sasha Nanji en route to a big 7-2 victory over the Saints at Thompson Arena in Hanover, NH on "Senior Day."

Dartmouth, which was already settled in as the No. 6 seed for the upcoming tournament, improves to 16-8-5 (11-7-4) and will face Harvard in their best-of-three series. Meanwhile, the Saints fall to 17-12-4 (12-6-3) and failed to earn a home-ice playoff series. They will head to Hamden, CT for a best-of-three with the Quinnipiac Bobcats next weekend.

"That obviously wasn't what we were looking for," said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells. "Dartmouth had great jump early and we couldn't match their intensity until it was too late. They had nine seniors playing their last home game and it was evident they wanted to have it be a win."

Dartmouth's special teams were very much the story line on Saturday, as the Big Green were 4-for-7 on the power play and posted a perfect mark on penalty kill (3-for-3). The home team opened up a 5-0 lead in the second period and never looked back.

The Big Green owned a 2-0 advantage after the first period thanks to goals by Reagan Fischer and Nanji. However, it started to get away from the visitors in the second despite outshooting Dartmouth 13-6. Karlee Odland made it 3-0 at 2:37, while Nanji and Laura Stacey added power play goals to cap the second period scoring with Dartmouth up 5-0.

Senior captain Kelly Sabatine would score her second goal of the weekend at 3:33 of the third period from rookie Jenna Marks, but Odland scored an empty net tally at 9:12 to put the game out of reach at 6-1. Amanda Boulier scored an unassisted goal for the Saints at 18:34, while the Big Green's Morgan Illikainen scored in the final second to cap the game scoring at 7-2.

Dartmouth closed with a 30-22 advantage in shots on goal, including a 14-5 mark in the first. Lindsay Holdcroft earned the win in net with 20 saves for the home team, while St. Lawrence goalie Carmen MacDonald stopped 15 shots before being replaced by Giulia Mazzochi, who made seven saves in relief.

"A new season starts on Monday and we will be ready," added Coach Wells. "Our games with Quinnipiac have been very even and we expect the same all weekend long."

Cornell will be the No. 1 seed in the ECAC Hockey Tournament, with Clarkson holding down the No. 2 spot after defeating Harvard on Saturday. The Crimson is third, followed by Quinnipiac, St. Lawrence, Dartmouth, Rensselaer and Colgate, respectively.

The Saints' ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series will begin on Friday, March 1 in Hamden, CT, with game times to be announced.
