Senior Leondre Simmon and junior Chyron Brown-Wallace continue to draw national attention as the 2015 football season nears. Simmon was a First-Team selection to the HeroSports.com Preseason All-America team at cornerback and Brown-Wallace picked up Second-Team All-America honors at defensive tackle.
The two defensive standouts were also selected to the All-Division III team from Lindy's and to the D3football.com Preseason All-America team.
Simmon earned the honor as a cornerback and also sees action as a wide receiver for the Saints. In 2014, Simmon led the Saints with 10 pass breakups and also had five interceptions on defense. Offensively, he had 16 receptions for 260 yards and five TDs.
Brown-Wallace had 49 tackles from his defensive tackle position and led the team with 15 ½ tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks. He also forced two fumbles and blocked a kick.
Only one other Liberty League player was selected to the first or second team on defense while only one Liberty League player was recognized on the offense.
The Saints open the 2015 season Friday, September 4 at Morrisville with a 7 pm game and will play its home opener Saturday, September 19 at 1 pm against Endicott.
