First-year Emily Middagh and junior Michelle Alonardo both scored their first career goal, and 15 players registered at least one point as the fifth-ranked St. Lawrence University women's hockey team dominated Brown University in a 7-2 win at Appleton Arena on Friday night.

Alonardo, a walk-on playing in her 58th career game wearing the Scarlet and Brown, scored a goal and had two assists in an exhibition game earlier this season, but statistics in exhibition games don't get recorded..

"Some kids who have worked very hard all year were rewarded with goals tonight, none of them more deserving than Michelle," said head coach Chris Wells '92. "The entire team was so excited to see her score tonight."

The Saints (17-2-2, 9-1-1 ECAC Hockey) outshot Brown 34-10 and had a 50-15 edge in the faceoff circle. St. Lawrence also had a great night on special teams, scoring on 2-of-4 power play opportunities and killing all four of their penalties, including a one minute, 46 second stretch of a 5-on-3 halfway through the first period.

Kennedy Marchment scored a goal and added two assists, and her linemates Hannah Miller and Brooke Webster both scored a goal and added an assist for the Saints. Kalie Grant and Kayla Vespa also had multi-point nights with two assists.

"We had a nice effort from all areas tonight," said Wells. "All four lines were able to produce goals, and we got a couple from the defense, too."

Miller got the Saints on the board early in the first period, firing a wrist shot from the top of the right circle over Brown goaltender Monica Elvin's right shoulder.

Brown's Veronica Alois tied the game in the first minute of the second period, surprising Saints goaltender Grace Harrison with a shot through a screen from outside the blue line.

Middagh gave the Saints the lead again less than six minutes later, sending a shot from the left faceoff circle into the top corner on the short side. Marchment increased the lead to two goals with a power play goal from the slot for her 13th of the season. Lydia Grauer scored on a low shot from the point to give the Saints a 4-1 lead at the second intermission.

Brown scored their second goal early in the third period, with Sam Donovan scoring on a loose puck in the crease after Bridget Carey hit the corner of the post, but the Saints responded with three more goals to put the game away.

Webster scored the Saints' first goal of the period on a give-and-go with Marchment, and Dakota Golde skated in from the blue line to score on a feed from Kayla Nielsen from between the faceoff circles for her second goal of the year.

Alonardo capped the scoring, putting away a rebound on a shot by Alex Moore with less than five mintues to play.

Elvin made 27 saves for Brown (4-14-0, 2-9-0), while Harrison stopped eight shots for the Saints.

St. Lawrence will face Yale on Saturday at 3 p.m.
