OSWEGO, N.Y.—Senior captain Alex Minsker (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) scored in the 77th to send the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (6-4-1, 1-1 SUNYAC) to overtime, but Oswego State (2-6-2, 1-1-1) scored in the 100th minute to capture a 2-1 win.

The Bears outplayed the Lakers in the first half, outshooting them 7-3. Oswego goalie Todd Lawson finished with four stops in the opening 45 minutes. However, the Lakers drew first blood in the 63rd minute as Connor Lunduski fired a rocket from just outside the box for a 1-0 lead. With the clock ticking down, Minsker dribbled past two defenders and beat Lawson to tie the score. The Bears compiled a 7-6 shot advantage in the second half, but couldn't find the game-winner.

In the overtime period, Potsdam sophomore goalie Nick Davies (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) made a big save off an Oswego corner kick in the 93rd minute, but the Lakers kept the momentum. Just 34 seconds before the end of the first extra session Josh Yager tapped home a long throw-in from Eric Widanka.

Davies finished with just two saves, while Lawson made four stops to earn the victory. The Bears outshot Oswego 14-12, but the Lakers edged Potsdam 3-2 in corner kicks.

Potsdam will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when the Bears head to Cortland to face the Red Dragons at 1 p.m.
