BROCKPORT -- Strong first half lifts College at Brockport (14-3, 9-1 SUNYAC) over the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team (1-15, 0-10 SUNYAC) 92-62 on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman guard Danny Delsol-Lowry (Queens, N.Y./Queens H.S. of Teaching) recorded his second double-double of his early career with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bears. Hamed Shamseldin finished with 19 points and Marcus Blythers had a team-high nine rebounds and 15 points on the Golden Knights' side.

Brockport grabbed an early eight point lead before Potsdam got on the board with a jumper from Delsol-Lowry followed about another layup and a free throw from sophomore forward Serigne Kane (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Prep). The Golden Eagles sharp shooting continued for a 14-3 run during a seven minute span to give them a 14 point lead. The Bears' offense battled to match Brockport's scoring, but were unable to shorten the Golden Eagle's lead. Delsol-Lowry closed out the first half from the foul line by going 1-for-2 and Brockport took the 45-27 score into halftime.

The Golden Eagle's hot shooting continued at the start of the half with a 14-1 run ignited by Blythers and it was shut down with a fast break layup from freshman guard Aaron Armstrong (Lisbon, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) at 17:04. See-saw play continued over the next three minutes of play before Potsdam started their own 12-2 offensive push with the Bears going 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Seven straight points from Brockport slowed Potsdam then bucket-for-bucket basketball ensued to end the contest.

Junior captain Kevin Baksh (Queens, N.Y./Richmond Hill) put up 11 points with Delsol-Lowry, while freshman guard Thomas Jayquan (Hollis, N.Y./Richmond Hill) finished with 10 points and two steals.

Devonn Gavin put together 12 points to close out the top scorers for Brockport.
